WhatsApp is finally coming to Apple Watch
After years of waiting, Apple Watch users are finally getting a proper WhatsApp app. The company has started testing it through Apple’s TestFlight programme. Until now, users could only view notifications, but the new companion app lets you actually use WhatsApp on your wrist.

You can now reply, react, and browse chats
The new version brings some much-needed features — you can scroll through your chats, read and reply to messages, and even send emoji reactions directly from your watch. It’s not as full-featured as the iPhone app yet, but it’s definitely a big step forward for quick communication.

Still not fully independent from the iPhone
The app works as a companion to your iPhone, not as a standalone app. That means your watch still needs to be connected to your phone for it to work. So while you can leave your phone in another room, you can’t leave it at home just yet.

Easy connection and smooth syncing
Setting it up looks pretty seamless. If your Apple Watch is already paired with your iPhone, WhatsApp connects automatically — no QR codes or extra steps. The app even shows a small indicator on the screen to tell you if it’s syncing, connected, or temporarily disconnected.

Public release is still a while away
Right now, only beta testers can try the app. WhatsApp hasn’t said when it will be available for everyone, but considering how polished this version looks, it might not be too far off. Once it rolls out globally, Apple Watch users will finally have a more convenient way to stay connected — no phone grabbing required.
