As per data on Downdetector -- the platform which keeps track of outages -- several users faced  payment failures on major platforms like Google Pay, Paytm, and State Bank of India (SBI). According to Downdetector, outage reports surged throughout the day, peaking in the late afternoon and evening, affecting fund transfers, payments, and app functionality.

Affected Services

As per the numbers on Downdetector, 64% of complaints were linked to funds transfer, followed by 28% for payments and 8% for app-related problems. State Bank of India (SBI) also faced significant disruptions, with 57% of users reporting fund transfer failures, 34% encountering mobile banking issues, and 9% struggling with account balance updates.

Social media platforms saw many users complaining about failed transactions, delayed refunds, and app crashes.

Reason Behind the Outage

As of now, no clear reason is known for the outage. For now, users are advised to monitor official channels for updates and consider alternative payment methods until services stabilize.

The NPCI addressed the recent UPI failures, stating that intermittent declines occurred due to fluctuations in success rates at some banks.

The organization assured that it is actively working with the banks and that UPI services have remained stable.
