2025 is here and smartphone makers have begun preparing to launch new and updated models throughout the year. The first month of the year is set to see several small and big announcements and the most anticipated one is the Galaxy S25 series launch. In addition to this, OnePlus has also confirmed the launch details for the OnePlus 13 series phones. The story does not end here, Xiaomi and Poco have also teased the launch of their next smartphone. Here’s a list of all the phones that are expected to launch in January.
OnePlus 13 series: Launching on January 7
OnePlus has already confirmed the launch date for its next flagship phones – OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R. The OnePlus 13 will take the charge as the flagship phone for the company in 2025. While the OnePlus 13R will come to slightly toned-down specifications and will act as the ‘flagship killer’ in the market.
In terms of features, both phones are set to get a flat glass sandwich design along with a Hasselblad-branded camera setup as the back. The phones have already debuted in China and will arrive in the global market on January 7. The phones will come with an X2 OLED panel with adaptive refresh rate support and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Expected to launch in the third week of January
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The lineup is speculated to include three models – Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The entire series is expected to deliver the flagship experience across all aspects. Moreover, Samsung is speculated to make several updates in terms of design and features. However, the key highlight is going to be the advanced AI features. Rumours also suggest that Samsung and Google can offer free Gemini Advanced subscriptions to buyers for up to a year.
Talking about the features, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the top of the line with the most updates. While the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are expected to get more of a quality upgrade.
Poco X7 Series: Launching on January 9
Poco is gearing up to unveil its Poco X7 Series on January 9, introducing the Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro models. Building on the success of its predecessor, the X6 Series, the new lineup is expected to focus on delivering improved performance while maintaining affordability. With anticipated upgrades in chipset capabilities and display quality, the X7 Series aims to position itself as a competitive option in the mid-range smartphone segment.
Xiaomi Redmi 14C: Launching on January 6
Xiaomi has kicked off 2025 with the launch of the Redmi 14C, a smartphone aimed at reinforcing its position in the budget-friendly segment. Touted as an affordable 5G device, the Redmi 14C is expected to offer dual-SIM 5G support and a 50MP rear camera, appealing to photography enthusiasts seeking value-driven features.
Oppo Reno 13 series: Launching this month (Date: TBD)
Oppo is also expected to announce the Reno 13 series globally in January. The official India launch date has not been revealed yet. But it is expected to arrive sometime this month. The lineup is expected to offer a triple rear camera, 120Hz refresh rate display, 5600mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset.
