Truecaller has announced the launch of Secure Calls, a new feature under its Truecaller for Business platform aimed at fighting the growing threat of call spoofing. The rollout begins globally today and is available to all Truecaller for Business subscribers.
The Secure Calls feature builds on Truecaller’s existing Verified Business identity offering. It introduces a secure backend handshake process, which verifies the caller’s authenticity in real time before connecting the call. Once validated, Truecaller tags the call as a “Secure Call” — adding a new layer of protection that prevents impersonators from spoofing business numbers.
This new feature comes in response to increasing fraud and scam attempts involving spoofed phone calls, which often mislead users into believing they’re interacting with legitimate companies. Truecaller aims to address this trust gap by offering strong verification signals with every call.
Fredrik Kjell, COO of Truecaller, said, “With Secure Calls, we are taking our commitment to verification to the next level. This launch underscores our mission to protect consumers and empower businesses to communicate with confidence. The call-by-call authentication provides a level of assurance not previously possible.”
The feature also includes visual cues within the Truecaller interface, clearly identifying Secure Calls so users can answer with greater confidence. This visibility not only boosts consumer trust but also protects brand reputation by reducing impersonation attempts.
India-based proptech firm NoBroker is among the first to adopt Secure Calls. Akhil Gupta, Founder and Chief Tech & Product Officer at NoBroker, noted that Truecaller’s technology helps the company stay ahead of scams while delivering a contextual, trusted experience for customers.
Secure Calls also allows businesses to display customized messages aligned with the recipient’s needs, improving communication prioritization. This level of personalisation, combined with fraud prevention, strengthens user engagement and response rates.
Key benefits of Secure Calls include reduced spoofing, enhanced verification, increased user trust, brand protection, and visible call indicators. Truecaller says the technology is designed to scale across global markets.
With over 450 million active users and nearly 3,000 enterprise clients, Truecaller’s new security feature marks another step in reinforcing safe and verified digital communication.
