A simple Shortcut has emerged as one of the most convenient additions to the iPhone experience on iOS 26. By letting you jump straight into any app’s dedicated Settings page with a single tap, it eliminates the slow, multi-step journey through the Settings app that many users still navigate daily. It is quick to set up, instantly useful, and surprisingly easy to integrate into your routine.

Apple’s Shortcuts app already gives power users a wide range of automation tools, and the iOS 26 update has expanded what it can do behind the scenes. Yet the most impactful shortcuts are often the ones that target small daily irritations instead of complex workflows. A recent example shared by Quinn Nelson has gained attention for precisely that reason. It solves a pain point introduced after Apple redesigned the Settings app last year, a redesign that unintentionally made it harder for users to reach an individual app’s settings menu.

Under the new layout, navigating to an app’s settings usually means closing your current app, opening the Settings app manually, scrolling or using search, selecting the right app, and then locating the specific controls you want to change. It is manageable, but it is hardly efficient, especially for users who frequently toggle permissions, notifications, privacy settings, or background activity for multiple apps throughout the day.

The new one-step shortcut cuts out all that friction. After installing the shortcut, adding the Run Shortcut control to Control Centre, and linking it to the App Settings shortcut, you effectively unlock a direct path into any app’s settings page. Once set up, the workflow becomes remarkably simple. When you are inside an app and need to adjust its settings, you just swipe down to open Control Centre, run the shortcut, and the iPhone immediately transports you to the correct section of the Settings app. There is no scrolling, no searching, and no navigating back and forth.
