These jobs could vanish in India by 2030 as AI takes over routine work, new report warns

Some jobs in India may not survive the next five years, and artificial intelligence could be the reason why. A new report by ServiceNow has raised concerns that many everyday roles, especially those involving repetitive or simple tasks, are at risk of disappearing by 2030.

The jobs most likely to go include data entry, telecalling, and basic customer service roles. These are the kinds of work that AI tools and automated systems can now handle quickly and cheaply. For example, many companies are already using chatbots instead of human staff to answer common questions or make bookings.

Even behind-the-scenes work like sorting files, reviewing resumes, or checking documents could soon be done by machines instead of people.

Why is this happening? It's a mix of reasons. Businesses want to cut costs. AI tools are getting smarter. And there’s pressure to do more work with fewer people. All of this means machines are taking on more responsibilities that used to be done by humans.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. The report also says that new kinds of jobs will be created, ones that involve building and managing these AI tools, checking their work, and making sure they’re being used fairly.

The big takeaway? If you’re in a job that feels repetitive or easily replaceable, now might be a good time to learn something new. Because like it or not, AI is changing how we work and the future belongs to those who can change with it.
