Earlier this month, Tata revealed its much-awaited SUV – Sierra in India. While it packs the nostalgia for lots of Indian customers, it certainly packs modernity that a SUV in 2025 should offer. For those unware, Tata Sierra price starts at Rs 11.49 ex-showroom. It packs a new striking design language, thee engine options – 1.5 liter NA, 1.5-liter Hyperion and 1.5-liter Diesel engine. But, what we are going to discuss here is its brand-new audio setup – yes – the Dolby Atmos, 12 speaker setup that claims to deliver an immersive in-car entertainment experience through advanced hardware, tuning and multi-screen integration.
Let’s start with what’s on offer with 2025 Tata Sierra
Tata Motors is elevating the in-car entertainment experience with the 2025 Tata Sierra, which arrives with a comprehensive audio and visual setup built around a 12-speaker JBL Black system, a SonicShaft soundbar, Dolby Atmos support and a triple-screen Horizon View layout.

Together, these technologies form what Tata calls Theatre Pro, a home-theatre-inspired setup designed to enhance how occupants watch content, listen to music and interact with the vehicle’s entertainment suite.
Theatre Pro and the triple-screen setup
At the centre of the Sierra’s experience is Theatre Pro, Tata Motors’ nomenclature for the SUV’s combined visual and audio package. The system is anchored by the Horizon View Triple Screen Setup, which includes an infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster and a dedicated passenger screen. The passenger display operates independently and supports entertainment apps, wireless headphones and gaming controllers, keeping multimedia consumption separate from the driver’s view.
The triple-screen configuration transforms the cabin into a more personalised entertainment space where passengers can enjoy video content, browse apps or play games without affecting navigation or media on the main infotainment screen. Complementing this visual experience is a 64-colour ambient lighting system that adjusts the cabin environment while users interact with content.
JBL Black speakers and Dolby Atmos: How the audio system is structured
The Sierra features 12 JBL Black speakers, tuned with Harman AudioworX enhancements and offering 18 JBL audio modes. The system is laid out as follows:
4 speakers in the doors
4 speakers on the A and B pillars
1 central speaker on the dashboard
2 speakers inside the SonicShaft soundbar
1 subwoofer in the boot

This distribution ensures that sound is projected evenly throughout the cabin, covering a broad frequency range and offering consistent clarity to both front and rear passengers.
The integration of Dolby Atmos is a notable step, as it brings spatial audio to the automotive environment. Unlike traditional surround audio, Atmos creates a three-dimensional sound field, allowing effects, vocals and environmental cues to move around the listener. For users, this means a more natural and layered audio experience whether they are streaming music, watching films or using supported apps.
The SonicShaft Soundbar: What it adds to the experience
A highlight of the Sierra’s audio configuration is the SonicShaft Soundbar, a component typically seen in high-end or luxury vehicles. The soundbar houses two of the 12 speakers and plays a key role in widening the soundstage. Instead of sound originating only from doors or pillars, the soundbar projects audio more evenly across the cabin, improving centre imaging and delivering better separation between instruments or dialogue.
Its placement also complements the central dashboard speaker and the boot-mounted subwoofer, collectively creating a balanced sound field that benefits every occupant.
What all of this means for users
For everyday listeners, the Sierra’s audio package translates into a richer, spatial listening environment that adapts to different content types. Music playback benefits from clearer highs and deeper bass, while cinematic content gains depth through Atmos-based positional audio. But, one needs to keep in mind that the ATMOS experience will be offered with the ATMOS content via the streaming services.
For passengers, especially those using the dedicated screen, the system creates a self-contained entertainment zone that mirrors a home-theatre setup. With independent apps, wireless audio support and a robust sound system, the Sierra aims to redefine how users consume media inside a car.
