Samsung Electronics is set to expand its AI Subscription Club to Galaxy smartphones and its Ballie AI robot, beginning next month. The subscription model initially launched for home appliances in South Korea, offers a flexible payment option but does not make the AI features exclusive to subscribers.
Han Jong-hee, Vice Chair of Samsung Electronics, confirmed the rollout, stating, “We will apply the subscription service to Galaxy smartphones starting next month. Ballie will be introduced first in Korea and the US, and we plan to supply it as a subscription in Korea.”
The Galaxy AI features will remain free to all users until at least the end of 2025. The subscription service provides an optional payment model, bundling repair and maintenance services with lower upfront costs.
What is the Samsung AI subscription club?
The AI Subscription Club debuted in South Korea in December 2024 for appliances like TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines. Consumers can access AI-powered functionalities, alongside maintenance options, through a monthly fee.
While Samsung has not announced international availability, the subscription service could expand globally. More details might emerge during the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, on January 22, where the Galaxy S25 series is expected to be unveiled.
