Samsung has been teasing the launch of two new M-series smartphones – Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G – in India. The company has already dropped the teaser video showcasing the features of the upcoming smartphones. And, now, the company has confirmed the launch date officially via the Amazon India website.
Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G launch dateAccording to the promotional banner running on Aamzon’s homepage, the Galaxy M06 5G and Galaxy m16 5G will launch later this month – February 27 – to be exact.
AmazonGalaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G: What we know so farAccording to Samsung’s new post on X, the Galaxy M06 5G will feature a dual rear camera setup, while the Galaxy M16 5G is set to come with a triple rear camera setup. In terms of design, both the phones are expected to feature similar design language and from what we can make out from the teaser image, the phones will feature flat design language with flat side rails as well.
Galaxy M06 5G has already been spotted on Geekbench as well as Samsung’s support page and it suggests that the phone will come with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset featuring up to 8GB RAM. The phone is also expected to come with Android 15-based One UI 7 update.
Galaxy M16 5G has already surfaced on Geekbench listing with model number SM-M166P/DS with a single-core score of 735 and a multi-core score of 1,758. This suggests that the phone could come with the same D6300 processor and Android 15 with One UI 7 software.
Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G: Expected priceConsidering the Galaxy M06's specifications are closely matched to the recently announced Galaxy F06 5G, the pricing could also be similar and we expected that the phone's price might start at under Rs 10,000 or around Rs 11,000. The Galaxy M16 5G, on the other hand, will be slightly expensive compared to the Galaxy M06 5G and might start at Rs 15,000 price bracket.
