Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on March 19 with support for Nvidia’s DLSS 4 and path-traced lighting, bringing AI-powered frame generation and advanced ray-traced effects to PC players. Nvidia has confirmed that the game will be optimised for GeForce RTX GPUs, particularly the new RTX 50 Series.
The upcoming release positions Resident Evil Requiem among the first major titles to fully integrate DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation alongside ray reconstruction and path tracing.
DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation
DLSS 4 introduces Multi Frame Generation, which uses AI models to generate additional frames between traditionally rendered frames. On compatible GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, this can significantly increase frame rates while maintaining image clarity.
For players running the game at higher resolutions such as 4K, DLSS 4 is expected to deliver smoother gameplay without forcing compromises on visual settings. The technology works alongside DLSS Super Resolution, which renders the game internally at a lower resolution and upscales it to near-native quality.
This combination enables higher performance even when demanding graphical effects are enabled.
Advanced ray-traced and path-traced lighting
Resident Evil Requiem will feature path tracing, a more comprehensive form of ray tracing that simulates how light behaves in real-world environments. Unlike traditional rasterised lighting, path tracing calculates multiple light bounces, reflections, refractions and shadows more accurately.
In practical terms, this means darker interiors, flickering lights, neon reflections and glass surfaces will appear more natural. Multiple light sources can cast realistic shadows, enhancing the atmosphere central to the survival horror experience.
The game will also use DLSS Ray Reconstruction, an AI-driven technique that replaces conventional denoisers to improve the clarity of ray-traced scenes.
Bundle offer for RTX 50 Series buyers
To coincide with the launch, Nvidia is offering Resident Evil Requiem as part of a limited-time GeForce RTX 50 Series bundle. Buyers of qualifying RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 graphics cards or laptops will receive a code for the game, subject to terms and conditions.
What this means for gamers
With DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation and path-traced lighting working together, Resident Evil Requiem aims to deliver higher frame rates and improved visual fidelity on supported hardware. For PC gamers using RTX GPUs, the March 19 launch highlights how AI-driven rendering is shaping the next phase of high-performance gaming visuals.
