Reliance Jio has introduced the JioTele OS, the next-generation home-grown operating system for smart TVs. The company says that the new operating system for TVs will “enable OEMs to provide world-class experience at affordable price” and has been designed to meet the needs of Indian users.
In terms of features, the OS is designed to offer curated content to suit the needs of Indian users by offering more localised content to binge on. Moreover, the JioTele OS comes with an AI-powered recommendation that seamlessly integrates with global and regional content and also supports leading streaming platforms with regular updates.

JioTele OS comes with AI-driven content recommendations that offer AI-tailored recommendations to users to make users less time searching and more time watching and enjoying the content.
A smoother experience is another major highlight of the JioTele OS. The operating system is designed to offer lag-free 4K performance for a better viewing experience.
The OS also offers access to a vast library of TV Channels, and cloud Games. This includes support for OTT apps and seamlessly switching between TV channels and content — all with a single remote.
Apart from these, the OS will also get regular software updates to ensure the TV OS stays compatible with new apps, content formats, and evolving securities & technologies.
Availability
Televisions powered by JioTele OS will be available starting Feb 21, 2025. The OS will debut with leading Smart TV brands such as Thomson, Kodak, BPL and JVC. Apart from this more brands are set to join the lineup in 2025.
