Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi is set to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered Xiaomi 17 series of flagship devices later this month in its homeland, followed by a global release in the coming months. However, it seems that they may not be the only devices to be launched with this chipset in the coming weeks, as a new leak suggests that a Xiaomi phone has been listed on a certification website, and it is believed to be the Redmi K90, which is also powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Redmi K90 series: Expected specifications
A Xiaomi handset with the model number 2510DRK44C has surfaced on the Chinese 3C certification database. The listing reveals that the device will support 100W wired fast charging. Moreover, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has confirmed that the model number belongs to the Redmi K90.
The leaker also revealed that the phone might be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which is set to launch during the Snapdragon Summit 2025, next week. Moreover, the tipster suggests that the Redmi K90 series will support 100W wired fast charging as standard, meaning that both Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro will likely ship with a 100W charger.
This upcoming lineup will succeed the Redmi K80 series, which was launched in November 2024. The tipster suggests that both the Redmi K90 smartphones will launch in late October. Further, both devices could come with a 2K resolution flat screen too, with the Redmi K90 Pro model expected to sport a 50MP periscope telephoto camera.
