K-pop girl group aespa has teamed up with PUBG: Battlegrounds in an exclusive collaboration that brings together music, gaming, and in-game content. This partnership revealed just weeks after Aespa’s successful single Dirty Work, marks a new chapter for the girl group’s global outreach and PUBG’s entertainment-driven strategy.
As part of the crossover, PUBG: Battlegrounds is introducing aespa-themed gameplay content, including exclusive in-game items, aespa-inspired cosmetics, and a special collab track titled Dark Arts. The new song is set to reflect PUBG’s intense survival theme, with fast guitar riffs, aggressive rhythm, and a powerful tone matching aespa’s bold, futuristic concept.
The in-game update for PC players will go live on July 9, while console players on Xbox and PlayStation will get access on July 17. Fans can already catch a glimpse of what’s coming in the official trailer, which showcases aespa’s cyber-inspired visuals, character skins, and the moody, high-energy vibe of Dark Arts.
While Dirty Work dominated Spotify’s global charts recently, PUBG has opted to bring back aespa’s earlier hit Whiplash (released in October 2024) as part of the collaboration rollout. Whiplash has over 195 million views on YouTube and nearly 250 million streams on Spotify, further cementing the group’s global appeal.
The PUBG x aespa partnership follows the group’s earlier collaborations with Apple and Capcom (for Street Fighter 6) and comes at a time when aespa is seeing chart-topping success in China and Southeast Asia. With over 1 million pre-orders for their latest music and strong engagement on Tencent platforms, the group’s influence continues to grow.
