OnePlus has confirmed that its next major software update, OxygenOS 16, will debut globally on October 16, 2025. The company revealed the launch details through its event teaser titled “Intelligently Yours”, hinting at the integration of AI-driven optimizations and cross-device experiences. The upcoming software update will bring performance improvements, deeper connectivity features, and new multitasking capabilities across OnePlus smartphones, tablets, and even select Apple devices.

Features
OxygenOS 16 focuses on delivering a seamless experience through “OnePlus Flow Motion,” a new engine that enhances system responsiveness and animation fluidity. The company claims the OS can handle zero-lag multitasking for up to three hours of continuous usage, whether switching between apps, watching reels, or gaming. Intensive use involving calls, recording, and gaming simultaneously is said to maintain consistent performance without visible slowdown.
On the OnePlus Pad 3, users will be able to switch between up to five active apps and resize floating windows with a simple swipe. OxygenOS 16 introduces a more efficient memory management system, allowing smoother transitions between apps and enhanced productivity across screens.
The update introduces cross-device compatibility through the O+ Connect platform. Users can drag and drop files, mirror screens, and manage multiple devices seamlessly across Mac and Windows PCs. For the first time, OnePlus is extending support to iPhones, enabling photo and file sharing through proximity-based connections using the O+ Connect app.
Additionally, Apple Watch users (Series 6 and later) can now sync health data with OnePlus phones via the OHealth app, marking an expansion of the OnePlus ecosystem beyond Android.
OxygenOS 16 enables instant data transfer between two OnePlus devices by simply bumping them together. The update also strengthens integration with the OnePlus Pad, allowing users to share screens, sync files, or transfer photos instantly.
