The OnePlus 13s is all set to launch on June 5, and while the phone’s full specs are still under wraps, the design has already caught a lot of attention. It’s smaller and more compact than the usual OnePlus flagships, which is a big deal for anyone who prefers a phone that’s easy to hold and use with one hand.
But one question has been on everyone’s mind: what exactly does the ‘S’ in OnePlus 13s mean? Well, during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session hosted by tech tipster Mukul Sharma, OnePlus CEO Robin Liu finally spilled the beans.
He said the ‘S’ stands for Stronger, Smarter, and Smaller — and that really sums up what this phone is all about. “Stronger” means the phone is built tough without cutting any corners. “Smarter” refers to the new AI features that make the phone more intuitive and user-friendly. And “Smaller” is because this is OnePlus’s first truly compact phone, designed for those who don’t want to juggle a giant screen all day.
What else do we know? According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the 13s might cost around Rs 55,000 in India. That would put it right between the OnePlus 13 and 13R, which sounds like a sweet spot for many buyers.
Coming to the design, leaked images show a neat 6.32-inch display, smaller than its bigger brothers but perfect for one-handed use. Don’t be fooled by the smaller size though, it’s packing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which promises strong performance whether you’re gaming or just browsing.
There’s also a new customisable Plus Key, kind of like Apple’s Action Button, which lets you quickly open apps or the camera. Plus, the phone sports a 32MP front camera for crisp selfies and some cool AI-powered features that mix on-device smarts with cloud support.
All in all, the OnePlus 13s looks like it could be a well-rounded, compact flagship that offers a great balance of power, features, and price. We’ll have to wait for the official launch to know for sure, but it’s definitely one to watch!
