NTT, part of a $100 billion global conglomerate, on December 3 committed more than Rs 2,400 crore to build a new multi-data center campus in Devanahalli near the Bengaluru airport. This investment takes its total current and planned investments in Karnataka to over Rs 4,100 crore, the company said in a release.
NTT, which operates 160 data centers worldwide and has 35 more under construction, announced the launch of its eight-acre Devanahalli campus at the 8th ASSOCHAM Smart Datacenters & Cloud Infrastructure Conclave.
The full campus will eventually house three data centers with a combined capacity of more than 60 MW, supported by a dedicated 220 kV power substation. A marquee Bengaluru-based customer is expected to go live this month.
How much has NTT already invested in Karnataka?
NTT said it has already invested Rs 1,700 crore across Bengaluru’s data center ecosystem. Karnataka is one of its strongest hubs in India, with existing facilities including DC2, DC3, and DC3X.
The new Devanahalli facility becomes its fourth data center in the city.
The global data center provider, which has been present in India for more than 25 years, operates 22 live data centers in the country and is building several more. It currently has about 400 MW of live IT load in India, with more than 200 MW under construction.
Globally, NTT has over 150 MW of live AI-ready capacity and 2 GW in development.
