London-based tech brand Nothing has announced that its Nothing Phone (3a) Series is being manufactured locally in India. Nothing claims that it has significantly contributed to job creation, with over 500 employees in their factory in Chennai, where the Phone (3a) Series is being manufactured, with 95% of the employees being women. This facility is central to the production of the Nothing Phone (3a) Series.
Nothing recorded a 577% year-over-year growth in India’s smartphone market in 2024, driven by strong demand for the Phone (2a) Series and its sub-brand CMF by Nothing, as per Counterpoint Research’s Monthly India Smartphone tracker. Nothing also surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue recently, four years after its launch in October 2020.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Series is speculated to include the Nothing Phone 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro. Nothing earlier teased its upcoming phone’s side profile on X, which shows a new button close to the power button. The new button is expected to be a camera shutter button, similar to the one on the iPhone 16, which would help users take quick snaps.
Nothing Phone 3a specifications: What we can expect
Based on several reports, we expect the Nothing Phone 3a to come powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. It could sport a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. The Nothing Phone 3a models could come with a telephoto lens.
