London-based smartphone company Nothing has announced that its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Phone (3), will be manufactured right here in India. The device will be built at the company’s Chennai factory, which already employs over 500 people and 95% of them are women.
This isn’t the first time Nothing is tapping into India’s manufacturing muscle. In fact, every Nothing phone so far has been made in India. But the Phone (3) feels different—it’s the company’s first proper flagship device, and they’re calling it “the very best of Nothing.”
Akis Evangelidis, the Co-Founder and India President of Nothing, called the move a significant milestone. “India has always been key for us. With Phone (3), we’re not just continuing our local manufacturing efforts—we’re doubling down on our investment in Indian talent and innovation,” he said, also reaffirming the company’s commitment to the Make in India initiative.
By making the Phone (3) in India, Nothing hopes to boost efficiency, reduce delivery times, and respond faster to customer demand.
The company isn’t stopping at manufacturing either. Nothing is expanding its post-sales service and retail footprint. It already runs exclusive service centers in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with more in the pipeline. In total, there are over 330 authorized service centers across India.
On the retail front, Nothing has grown fast, from just 2,000 stores last year to a whopping 10,000 today.
