Nothing has finally launched their latest OS 3.0, alongside the Nothing Ear Open. During the launch, the company revealed that OS 3.0 would come with several new AI features. Additionally, a new Nothing Gallery app and several customization features will also be introduced with this new OS update.
Nothing OS 3.0: Top features
Smart drawer: With the Nothing OS 3.0, Nothing, with the help of AI, will categorise apps and arrange the most used apps up top. This new app drawer is dubbed Smart Drawer, and it can be turned off as well the regular app drawer is still there and is available by default. The Smart Drawer will also allow you to pin your favourite apps at the top of the app drawer.
New lock screen clock and widgets: The Nothing OS 3.0 allows more clock faces and widgets on the lock screen. We now get N-Type and N-Dot designs, which are themed according to the clock on the London Underground metro station. Moreover, Nothing has included 20 built-in widgets for the home screen.
Nothing Gallery: With the Nothing OS 3.0, the brand has introduced a new Gallery app, which will help lower the processing time by 25% faster. The app will also keep track of your key moments with the help of AI and place the special moments categorically. The Gallery app will also work seamlessly with the Nothing camera app.
AI features: Nothing OS 3.0 also now has automatic image categorization and natural language search. Nothing has confirmed that AI upscaling or super-resolution and AI image generation will be available in the future to use in the camera app.
The Nothing OS 3.0 open beta will be available in October, and the stable roll-out will begin in December 2024. Nothing Phone 2a, Phone 2a Plus, and Phone 2 are expected to receive this update.
