Vodafone Idea is picking up the pace with its 5G rollout. On April 28, 2025, the company officially launched its 5G services in Chandigarh and Patna — not Delhi, as many were expecting. If you’re a Vi customer with a 5G phone in these cities, you can now start enjoying faster internet speeds.

Vi first launched 5G services in Mumbai in March, where it’s already seeing strong results. According to Vi, more than 70% of eligible users in Mumbai are using Vi 5G, and the new network now makes up about 20% of the city’s total mobile data traffic.

Vi isn’t stopping there. The company confirmed that Delhi and Bangalore are next in line, with 5G services expected to launch in these cities sometime in May.

To make things even more exciting, especially for cricket fans, Vi has also rolled out 5G services in 11 major cricket stadiums across India, just in time for the ongoing T20 League. So if you're catching a match live, you can now stream, share, and post at lightning speed.

As part of its launch offer, Vi users can enjoy unlimited 5G data on recharge plans starting at just Rs 299. Whether you want to stream videos, play games, attend video calls, or download huge files, Vi promises a much smoother and faster experience.

In Chandigarh and Patna, Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy energy-efficient technology and vRan infrastructure to boost network performance. They’ve also introduced an AI-based Self-Organizing Network (SON) system to keep the network running at its best without human intervention.

With this expansion, Vi says it is building a "future-ready" network designed to meet the growing demand for faster, smarter connectivity. By bringing 5G to more cities, the company hopes to empower both everyday users and businesses with advanced digital services.
