New PUBG game ‘Blindspot’ announced, Krafton drops trailer

PUBG: Blindspot is a new team-based shooting experience crafted by the ARC Team at PUBG Studios (a part of PUBG Corporation). Previously known as Project Arc, the upcoming PUBG game has been christened as ‘PUBG: Blindspot’. Publisher Krafton also dropped a Steam Next Fest trailer for the upcoming PUBG franchise title. Here are the key details you need to know about PUBG Blindspot:

PUBG Blindspot: Genre and gameplay
PUBG: Blindspot is an upcoming 5v5 top-down tactical shooter where you can play either as a member of the attacking team or the defending team. In a vast departure from the battle royale PUBG experience, where close to a hundred players jumped in the battleground to duke it out in first-person/ third-person view, PUBG Blindspot will pit two teams of 5 players each in a top-down view that lets you see the staging ground of the fight and plan accordingly as the match progresses. Hence, strategy becomes critical in the 5v5 team-based matches of PUBG Blindspot.

The top-down view emphasises the need for tactical planning too in intense gunfight scenarios. PUBG Blindspot gameplay style looks inspired by Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, with the top-down view being the major difference between the two.

PUBG Blindspot: Platforms, release date and demo

PUBG Blindspot is set to come out on Steam but we don’t have a release date yet. However, Krafton will release a playable demo of PUBG Blindspot on Steam starting February 21, 2025. The PUBG Blindspot demo will be the first time players will get to experience the game. The reviews and feedback from the gaming community should help Krafton and PUBG Corporation to fine-tune the tactical PUBG shooter before the final release.

PUBG Blindspot: Demo content

The PUBG Blindspot demo will allow players to choose from “10 unique characters with their own signature weapons and special tools" like the decrypter, smoke bombs, grenades, etc. The PUBG Blindspot demo includes “3 intense team deathmatch maps and 4 demolition mission maps, each with its own epic theme", said the developers.
