Expanding its flip-style foldable smartphone lineup, Motorola has unveiled three new Razr smartphones dubbed as Razr, Razr Plus, and Razr Ultra—as part of its 2025 Razr series.
The new lineup was unveiled globally on April 24, with preorders starting May 7 in the US and sales beginning May 15. India-specific availability and pricing are yet to be revealed.
Features
The Razr Ultra is the top of the lineup and features a 4-inch cover screen and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU, which Motorola claims offers a 45 per cent performance boost over its predecessor. The GPU is said to deliver 40 per cent better graphics performance.
The standard Razr is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X.
All three phones use a titanium-reinforced hinge said to be 35 per cent more durable than the previous generation. The battery capacity ranges from 4,000mAh on the Razr Plus to 4,700mAh on the Ultra. The base Razr has a 4,500mAh battery.
While the entry-level Razr retains a 3.6-inch cover display from last year, the Razr Plus and Razr Ultra get the larger 4-inch panel. The entire series is rated IP48 for dust resistance.
On the camera front, the new Razr has a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide and macro lens. Motorola has introduced new shooting modes including Group Shot and Action Shot.
The Razr lineup also supports new AI features under Moto AI such as Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This. Motorola says the devices can offer contextual suggestions based on screen content and support Smart Connect commands like “show me this on my TV.” Google Gemini and Gemini Live will be accessible from the cover screen.
The Razr Ultra will be offered in four finishes: soft-touch Alcantara, real wood, satin, and leather-inspired. Colour options include Scarab, Pantone Mountain Trail, Pantone Cabaret, and Pantone Rio Red. The base Razr will be sold in Pantone Gibraltar Sea, Spring Bud, Lightest Sky, and Parfait Pink. The Razr Plus will be available in Hot Pink, Midnight Blue, and Mocha Mousse.
