After launching it globally, Meta has finally introduced the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses in India. This marks the company's expansion of wearable devices in the country. The Gen 2 smart glasses come upgraded video capture, improved battery performance and refreshed frame options.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 builds on the previous generation of Meta smart glasses, bringing a more capable camera system, upgraded Meta AI integration and revised designs. The glasses are aimed at users who want a hands-free device for quick photo and video capture while staying connected through voice and companion app controls.
Price in India
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 series starts at Rs 39,900. Multiple frame styles, colours and lens options will be available, including prescription variants through authorised Ray-Ban partners.
Availability
The glasses go on sale starting today at Ray-Ban India stores, online retail platforms and select optical outlets nationwide. Buyers can also purchase optional lenses, cases and other accessories separately.
Features
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 features an upgraded 3K Ultra HD video camera with improved stabilisation and better low-light capture. The new ultrawide HDR system is designed to handle high-contrast environments, while capture modes such as hyperlapse and slow motion will be added later through software updates.
The glasses deliver up to eight hours of battery life, with fast charging that reaches 50 percent in about 20 minutes. The bundled charging case provides an additional 48 hours of backup. Connectivity is enabled through the Meta View app, allowing users to manage captures, sync content and use Meta AI features.
Meta has also refreshed the styling for Gen 2, expanding the lineup across the Wayfarer, Headliner and Skyler frames. New seasonal colours include Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet and Shiny Asteroid Grey.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 continues Meta’s push into personal wearables with an emphasis on practicality and everyday use. With a broader set of capture tools, longer battery life and more style variations, the company aims to make smart glasses accessible to users who prefer lightweight, camera-first wearables over bulkier head-mounted devices.
