The Pokémon Company has officially revealed Mega Victreebel, one of 26 new Mega Evolutions, set to be introduced in Pokémon Legends Z-A, which will release on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The gaming firm clearly took some inspiration from the Resident Evil series, as the announcement trailer comes with a found footage-style pseudo-horror theme.
Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Victreebel trailer
The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled Mega Victreebel with two trailers. The first one is a sooky teaser, which showcases two trainers finding Mega Victreebel in an abandoned house. Meanwhile, the second one provides the fans with their first look at gameplay with the new Mega Evolution in action. These teasers also confirm that Mega Victreebel is an immensely bloated creature, with vines coiled around its head.
To recall, Victreebel’s character first debuted in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996. The official description of the trailer suggests, “Introducing Mega Victreebel, the newly discovered Mega Evolution of the Flycatcher Pokémon! This massive Mega-Evolved Pokémon can deliver tackles with destructive force—and the sweet-smelling acid it produces can melt steel!”
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also feature a new 4-player battle mode called Z-A Battle Club. The game will be released globally on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16. Further, the Switch 2 Edition of Pokémon Legends Z-A is promised to offer an improved frame rate and higher resolution. More details about new gaming modes and characters are expected to be revealed as we get closer to the game’s launch.
