Apple has finally launched its first ultra-slim smartphone, the iPhone Air, which rivals the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Here’s a detailed comparison of their specifications and features with their pricing, to help you decide.

Alongside the iPhone 17 series, Apple has introduced a new category this year, with the launch of the much-awaited iPhone Air. Powered by the A19 Pro chipset, the device promises the performance of the iPhone 17 Pro series in an ultra-thin form factor. Its launch just comes months after the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which also offers flagship specifications with a sleek design and light body.

But which phone strikes the perfect balance of style and performance, while offering the most value? Let us find that out in our comparison of the newly launched iPhone Air with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

iPhone Air vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Price

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a starting price of Rs 1,09,999 for the base model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 512GB variant is priced at Rs 1,21,999. The iPhone Air is Rs 10,000 more expensive, while offering the same onboard storage capacity. Meanwhile, its 512GB and 1TB variants are priced at Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,59,900, respectively.

The iPhone Air comes with a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED ProMotion display with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness level and a variable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. It is also the thinnest iPhone model ever built, measuring 5.6mm in thickness. The front and back panels of the iPhone Air come with Ceramic Shield 2 protection, which makes it up to four times more crack-resistant.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge sports a bigger 6.7-inch Quad-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection. It is slightly thicker with a width of 5.8mm and weighs about 163g, which makes it 2g lighter than the iPhone Air. Moreover, while the Galaxy S25 Edge features flat edges, instead of slightly curved edges on the iPhone Air.

The iPhone Air has a single 48MP rear camera with OIS and a 2x telephoto zoom. On the front, it features an 18MP Centre Stage selfie camera, the same as the standard iPhone 17, which helps to keep a person centred in the video while recording. The Galaxy S25 Edge has a dual rear camera setup, with a 200MP main sensor with 2x zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. At the front, it also has a 12MP selfie camera.

The iPhone Air is powered by the A19 Pro chip, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. Further, it ships with 12GB of RAM and Apple’s new in-house C1X modem for improved connectivity. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with 12GB of RAM. Both phones also offer multiple AI features.

Traditionally, the Cupertino tech giant does not reveal the battery capacities of its iPhone models, and with the iPhone Air, it’s no different. However, some reports have suggested that the phone comes with a 3,149 mAh battery. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers a bigger 3,900 mAh battery. Both phones come with Qi support for wireless charging, and wired charging speeds are capped at 25W.

Both smartphones share a lot of similarities, as they come with ultra-slim and light build, high-resolution camera, and snappy performance. If you want a phone that works perfectly with Apple apps and offers improved durability, the iPhone Air is the better choice at a slight premium. However, if you want a bigger and sharper display, with camera versatility at a cheaper price, the Galaxy S25 Edge should be your pick.
