Recent LPG supply disruptions and refill delays across several cities appear to be driving a surge in downloads of the IndianOil ONE application. The utility app has climbed to the number one position on the Google Play Store’s Top Free charts, overtaking the widely used AI tool ChatGPT.
Play Store chart data shows IndianOil ONE occupying the top position with a 4.4 rating. ChatGPT currently holds the second position with a 4.6 rating. The shift reflects how consumer priorities can change when essential services such as cooking fuel face supply constraints.

LPG shortage drives demand for booking tools
The spike in downloads coincides with reports of LPG refill delays in multiple parts of India. As households rely on LPG cylinders for everyday cooking, consumers have increasingly turned to mobile platforms to book refills and track deliveries.
Applications like IndianOil ONE allow users to manage their LPG accounts digitally, reducing the need to visit distributors or make phone bookings. During periods of supply pressure, such platforms often see increased activity as users monitor booking status and delivery timelines.
What the IndianOil ONE app offers
IndianOil ONE is designed as a central platform for customers of Indian Oil Corporation to manage fuel-related services. The application allows users to access their LPG connection information and perform several account-related tasks through a single interface.
Key features of the app include LPG cylinder booking, booking history tracking, distributor search, and service request management. Users can also manage existing LPG connections, change distributors, request mechanic services, and contact customer support directly through the platform.
The app also integrates IndianOil’s XTRAREWARDS loyalty programme, allowing users to enroll, track reward points, and monitor transactions from within the same interface.
Utility apps move ahead of entertainment platforms
The Play Store chart shows several entertainment and commerce applications following the two top-ranked apps. These include Story TV in third place, FreeReels in fourth, and Meesho in fifth position. Flipkart, JioHotstar, PhonePe, and Instagram also appear within the top ten list.
The ranking highlights how utility-focused applications can temporarily dominate app charts during service disruptions. In this case, the surge in downloads indicates that consumers are prioritising tools that help manage essential services such as LPG cylinder bookings during supply delays.
