After introducing the world’s first triple foldable smartphone, Huawei is all set to all set to take centre stage once again in the foldable phone race. The company has revealed that its next-generation triple fold smartphone, the Mate XTs, will be officially introduced on September 4, and has started accepting pre-reservations for it. This new foldable will succeed last year's Mate XT Ultimate Design and is confirmed to get stylus support as well.
Huawei Mate XTs: Expected specifications, design
Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu shared a short teaser for the Mate XTs, in which he can be seen using a stylus on its main screen. The device in the video comes in a new white colour with gold accents, and at the end of the video, the company confirms that the foldable will launch on September 4. Huawei has also started to accept pre-reservations for the Huawei Mate XTs through Vmall in China, revealing that it would be available in three RAM and storage configurations, with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
Further, the device is expected to be powered by the latest Kirin 9020 SoC, which is likely to support satellite connectivity. The phone is also tipped to have a new 50MP main camera with variable aperture alongside an upgraded periscope telephoto lens. The teasers reveal that the camera island will have four sensors, with a pill-shaped LED flash positioned vertically at the centre.
In terms of battery capacity, the Mate XTs could pack a 5,600mAh battery and ship with Harmony OS 5.1. Huawei has already confirmed that Mate XTs Extraordinary Master will come in four colour options, which include black, red, white, and the newly introduced hibiscus purple. Previous leaks have hinted at the foldable to be priced around $2,000, which is cheaper than the starting price of its predecessor.
