Huawei Mate XT Ultimate tri-fold phone with 10.2-inch OLED screen goes global: Price, specifications

The Huawei Mate XT Design, which is the first triple-foldable phone, has finally launched globally in Kuala Lumpur, after being exclusive to China since its launch in September 2024. It is the first commercially available smartphone that can unfold twice and comes with a regular 6.4-inch display when folded, but unfolding it twice reveals a massive 10.2-inch tablet-like screen.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design's price in the UAE is set at AED 12,999 and RM 14999 in Malaysia (around Rs 3,08,000) for the sole 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage configuration. It is currently available for purchase via the company’s official website, and the handset’s sale will begin on February 25. It will be available in black and red colour options.

When fully unfolded, the Mate XT Ultimate offers a 10.2-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3,184 x 2,232 pixels and a 16:11 aspect ratio. The screen supports up to 90Hz refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate and 382ppi pixel density.  Despite the tri-folding mechanism, the Mate XT Ultimate has a slim profile measuring 12.8mm in thickness when folded and weighing approximately 298 grams.

While the processor of the global variant has not been specified yet, China’s variant is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9010 5G processor. The phone is available globally with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage. It runs on EMUI 14.2 out-of-the-box. In terms of optics, the Mate XT Ultimate features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5.5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. For selfies, there's an 8MP front camera.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is backed by a 5,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
