While the release date for the much-awaited GTA VI has been pushed to fall of 2026, it is not stopping leaks, demos and other details from surfacing online revealing key features and details about the game. A similar thing has happend where a short but notable leak related to Grand Theft Auto VI has surfaced online, offering fans a rare look at previously unseen gameplay animations. The footage appeared on Vimeo through the demo reel of Ben Chue, a former Rockstar Games character animator. Now this unexpected appearance of work-in-progress material has added new fuel to ongoing discussions around the game.
What the leaked reel shows
The reel contains roughly two minutes of animation work, but the first 19 seconds are what caught the attention of fans on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours community. These early clips appear to be from GTA VI and feature two separate character animation sequences.
In one, a male character interacts with a bicycle at a public rack. He walks the bike backward to free it from the stand, adjusts his posture, gets on the seat, and prepares to ride. Observers noted how the pedals subtly shift as the character places his feet, a detail consistent with Rockstar’s focus on grounded animation and physical accuracy.
Another brief clip shows a female character standing on top of a truck before dropping back onto the road, hinting at expanded environmental interactions and traversal movements.
The bicycle shown is labeled “LOMBike,” a likely parody of real-world e-bike sharing services, continuing Rockstar’s long-running use of fictional brands to mirror real cultural references.
Chue’s portfolio also includes animation work on Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, Max Payne 3 and other Rockstar releases, making the authenticity of his reel more credible than the recent flood of AI-generated “leaks.” Since the reel consists of development animations rather than narrative or major gameplay reveals, it remains unclear whether Rockstar will request its removal.
While the clips don’t confirm new features, they highlight the level of animation detail Rockstar is working with for GTA VI. For fans awaiting the next official trailer, even these small glimpses offer a look into the game’s ongoing development process.
