Google is turning smartphones into smarter gaming companions with the latest update to its Circle to Search feature. Originally introduced as a tool to identify, translate, or get quick information by simply circling elements on the screen, Circle to Search now offers real-time help for mobile gamers, bringing strategies, tips, and contextual insights without interrupting gameplay.

Announced during the Galaxy Unpacked 2025, Android users can now use Circle to Search during mobile gaming to get immediate support. Whether it’s identifying a new character, looking up game mechanics, or finding strategies for a specific level, players can now access AI-powered answers while staying inside the game.

To use it, users simply long-press the home button or navigation bar and then circle or tap the on-screen element they need help with. Google’s AI will provide an overview with relevant search results, videos, or tips. This enables players to stay immersed while quickly resolving challenges or learning new tricks.

The update also introduces “AI Mode” to Circle to Search, enhancing the user experience with search results. When the system determines that an AI-generated response could be useful, users will see an “AI Overview” in their results. By tapping “dive deeper with AI Mode,” they can ask follow-up questions and explore the topic further without switching apps.

Google’s Gemini model powers this advanced AI reasoning experience and is currently available in India and the United States. It is also accessible via Google Lens and the Google app on both Android and iOS devices
