Google has finally started rolling out a much-asked feature to Play Store. The feature in question is the ability to download and update multiple apps at a time. This means Play Store can now download multiple apps simultaneously and install them on the phone or tablet.
Play Store multiple app downloads: Rollout details
The new multiple app downloads feature is now rolling out to all users globally. However, as expected, it is a phased rollout and may take a while to reach all users.
Play Store multiple app downloads: What is it and how it will make your life easier
Downloading and installing apps using Play Store can be a cumbersome and time taking process as until now, Play Store used to download one app at a time and the same applies for the updates as well. This means, if you are downloading or trying to update several apps in one go, Play Store will do it at its own speed – one at a time. This means, Play Store won’t start downloading the next app until it finishes downloading and installing the first app and this was annoying.
Well, not anymore. With multiple app downloads, Play Store can now download more than one app simultaneously. With the latest update, users can now download and install more than one app at a time from Play Store. This will make the entire downloading apps thing on Android much easier and faster. In fact, the feature will especially come in handy while getting rid of a long list of pending app updates that are already installed on the device.
It is to be noted that the feature has extended to more than one app. However, it appears that there’s a limit of three apps and anything beyond that still shows the “Pending” tag.
