Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting a new DLC character– Goku (Super Saiyan 4, DAIMA), who will arrive in the game in spring 2026, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment announced at the EVO France 2025 gaming festival. This makes Goku the first new fighter to be added to the fighting game in four years.
Bandai Namco will also hold an on-site Dragon Ball FighterZ Master Showdown at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, Los Angeles, California, from April 18-19. In the Master Showdown at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, participants have the chance to take on pro players like Hikari, GO1, SonicFox, Wawa, Wade and Yasha, but to do that, they must pass the qualifying rounds first.
Dragon Ball FighterZ also received a new balance adjustment update recently (the version 1.40 patch) that brings “strategic depth to Z-Reflect” and changes to every character in the anime fighting game. This is a significant update that includes adjustments for all 44 characters. Changes have been made to Ki Charge, Dragon Rush, Sparking Blast, High Jump, Z Reflect, Vanish, Z-Assists type A and B, Z-Change, Guard Cancel Change and the Limit-Breaking Power mechanics.
Dragon Ball FighterZ brings the “aerial combos, destructible stages, famous scenes from the DRAGON BALL anime reproduced in 60FPS and 1080p resolution” to Dragon Ball fans. The 2.5D fighting game is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam).
