Dolby Laboratories and LG Electronics have announced the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system built around the H7 soundbar, which becomes the first soundbar to support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The announcement was made on December 17, 2025, with the companies positioning the system as a simplified approach to immersive home audio that reduces wiring and placement complexity.
The launch also expands Dolby Atmos FlexConnect beyond standalone wireless speakers into soundbars, allowing the TV to act as the central hub for audio calibration and system control.
What Dolby Atmos FlexConnect doesDolby Atmos FlexConnect is designed to let users connect wireless speakers directly to a compatible TV and place them where it suits the room layout rather than following fixed positions. The TV detects each speaker and automatically optimises audio output based on location, distance, and acoustics.
With the LG Sound Suite, FlexConnect supports gradual system expansion. Users can start with a basic setup and add more speakers or a subwoofer over time, without changing the core configuration.
LG Sound Suite components and configurationsThe LG Sound Suite supports up to 27 speaker configurations, ranging from two-speaker setups to a full 13.1.7-channel system. The lineup includes the H7 soundbar, M7 and M5 surround speakers, and the W7 subwoofer.
When the H7 soundbar is used as the lead device, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect works with any TV. The feature is also available on select LG premium 4K TVs with Dolby Vision support, when paired with compatible LG wireless speakers and subwoofers.
TV integration and availability timelineLG confirmed that Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will be supported across its latest premium TV lineup, with select 2025 models receiving the feature through a future software update. This allows existing LG TV users to enable FlexConnect without changing hardware, subject to model compatibility.
LG will publicly showcase the Sound Suite during CES 2026, scheduled from January 6 to January 9.
Dolby highlighted the continued expansion of Dolby Atmos content across films, streaming platforms, music, sports broadcasts, and gaming. The companies said the Sound Suite is aimed at ensuring consistent playback across different room sizes and layouts, aligning home setups more closely with creator-intended audio mixes.
With this launch, Dolby and LG are focusing on flexibility, scalability, and reduced setup friction as key factors in the next phase of home audio adoption.t
