For most couples, fights over small things like bad driving or forgotten chores can go on for hours. But for Abella Bala and Dom Versaci, a US-based couple, the solution is just a few keystrokes away. Instead of going in circles, they turn to ChatGPT to solve their issues. Now, this isn't something unheard of. People do turn to AI chatbots for advices but the tool is now really helping couples in distress.

“ChatGPT has saved our relationship,” Bala, a 36-year-old talent manager from Los Angeles told the New York Post. “Until it takes Dom’s side,” she added.

For the past six months, Bala and Versaci, a 29-year-old data scientist, have been using AI as a neutral third party. When they get stuck in an argument, they ask ChatGPT for advice. Sometimes, the bot gives solid communication tips. Other times, it throws out wild suggestions—like “opening up” their relationship or giving Versaci a “hall pass.” They laughed that one off immediately.

Still, it helps. “ChatGPT is weirdly good at de-escalating fights,” Bala admits. “Neither of us wants to argue with a robot.”
More couples are experimenting with AI for relationship advice, especially as therapy costs go up. A single session with a human therapist can cost hundreds of dollars, making free chatbot advice a better alternative, infact a more economical alternative for minor conflicts.

But is it reliable? counselor Ashley Williams warns against relying too much on AI. “There’s not enough research proving its advice is solid,” she says. She also raises concerns about privacy. “How much personal information are users sharing with AI, and where is that data going?, she told the Post.

Now, whatever the counselors may say. If it helps you, you use it but at the same don't take everything it says seriously, as it can also ruin your relationship.
