Bengaluru Metro users will soon be able to book tickets through Rapido and other mobility apps.

Sources told Moneycontrol that Rapido has already begun testing Metro ticket booking on its app, and more aggregators are expected to join soon. This integration will allow users to book auto-rickshaws, cabs, and Metro tickets through a single app.

Rapido also plans to offer a 20 percent discount on the first Metro ticket booked through its app. Another mobility firm, Tummoc - which also provides BMTC bus passes - is piloting Metro ticket bookings through its app.

“We are enabling end-to-end journey booking through Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, which is tied up with more than 10 mobility apps. This will let users book tickets through any app they prefer,” a senior BMRCL official told Moneycontrol.

Officials said that users will soon be able to access Metro ticketing through platforms like Google Maps, Namma Yatri, and Redbus in the coming weeks. “We plan to officially launch the ONDC partnership next month,” the official added.

BMRCL has partnered with technology service provider SequelString AI (SAI) for integration across a variety of digital platforms/apps.

According to BMRCL data, as of April 2025, 48.1 percent of users used smart cards, 29 percent used tokens, and 22.8 percent opted for QR ticketing. That month, 2.28 crore people travelled by Metro.

Meta-owned WhatsApp introduced QR-code-based Metro ticket booking in November 2022. However, it does not support first-and-last mile ticketing. “We also have partnerships with Paytm (for QR-code ticketing) and Amazon Pay (for smart card recharges),” the official said.

BMRCL plans to offer a complete door-to-door mobility solution. “In the future, users will be able to book first-mile (auto, cab, or bus), Metro, and last-mile legs of their journey in one seamless ticket through these apps,” the official added.
