Taiwanese electronics giant Asus has officially confirmed that its next-generation flagship smartphone is arriving next month. The company revealed the news on X (formerly Twitter) that the Zenfone 12 Ultra will launch on February 6, which is a bit earlier than last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra launch, which came out in March 2024. The Zenfone 12 Ultra has been tipped to have similar features to the Asus ROG Phone 9, which was introduced in limited regions in November 2024.
Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra: Global launch date and expected specifications
The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra will launch globally on February 6 at 2:30 PM Taipei time (12 PM IST) and is teased to offer "a new era of mobile photography excellence" to users. Multiple reports have also suggested that the phone is expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which also powers the newly launched ROG Phone 9.
Further, the device could come with a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 1-120Hz LTPO display powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. On the optics front, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is tipped to come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 primary sensor, a 13MP Ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 5MP macro lens. For selfies and video calls, the phone may have a 32MP lens.
If we talk about its battery capacity, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is likely to feature a 5800mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. In terms of pricing, the device is expected to follow in the footsteps of the ROG Phone 9, which starts at EUR 1,099 (around Rs 97,000) for the 12GB + 256GB configuration.
