Apple has started rolling out iOS 18.0.1 and iPadOS 18.0.1 updates for iPhones and iPads. Considering it is a minor update, it mainly brings fixes for bugs, security improvements and more. However, the most important part is that the update brings a fix for the microphone access on iPhone 16 and a fix for Passwords app access across all compatible iPhones and iPads.
Apple iOS 18.0.1 update: What’s newApple, in the official changelog of the iOS 18.0.1 update, mentions that the bug where audio messages in the Messages app weren’t getting recorded for the moment before the green indicator turns on, has been fixed with the update. Do note that the problem was mainly affecting the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Passwords app issue fixedThe update also brings one of the most critical issues with the Passwords app where the app may read the saved password aloud. According to Apple, the bug has been fixed too. This bug was affecting all the iPhone and iPad models that are compatible with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 update.
The iPadOS 18.0.1 also includes a bug fix which was affecting iPad Pro models powered by M4 chipsets.
