Apple rolls out iOS 18.4 for iPhone users: Here’s all that’s new

For users in India, iOS 18.4 brings support for 10 new system languages, including Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Apple has officially released iOS 18.4, bringing a slew of features across Apple Intelligence, Photos, Apple Vision Pro, Apple News+, and more. The update introduces smarter notifications, expanded AI language support, improved photo organisation, and new features for Apple’s ecosystem of apps.

For users in India, iOS 18.4 brings support for 10 new system languages, including Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This means you can set up your iPhone in any of the above languages.

Apple Intelligence features

Apple Intelligence, available on iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, now prioritises urgent notifications, ensuring important alerts appear at the top of the screen. The Image Playground feature also gets an artistic boost with a new Sketch style, allowing users to create beautiful sketch-style images. Apple Intelligence now supports eight additional languages and two new English locales, including English (India, Singapore), French (France, Canada), German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Spain, Latin America, US).

New features in Photos app

Apple has refined the Photos app with new organisational tools. Users can now filter items in Library view, reorder collections, and sort albums by Date Modified. Additional options include the ability to disable “Recently Viewed” and “Recently Shared” collections, ensuring more control over photo organization. Hidden photos are now excluded from imports to Mac or PC if Face ID is enabled.

Apple Vision Pro and News+app

The new Apple Vision Pro app, now automatically installed for Vision Pro users, provides quick access to content, spatial experiences, and device information. Meanwhile, Apple News+ introduces a recipe catalog, letting users browse, save, and follow step-by-step instructions for curated dishes. The Food section now includes restaurant stories, kitchen tips, and healthy eating articles.

Some other features include new widgets for Podcasts provide better access to followed shows and the Library. Ambient Music in Control Center offers curated playlists instantly. Furthermore, Safari now offers recent search suggestions for quick access to past queries. Also, App Store now features review summaries and allows pausing and resuming app downloads.
