Apple hasn’t given up on its plan to make a more affordable version of its Vision Pro headset. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is currently working on two new models. One will be a lighter, cheaper version of the Vision Pro, while the other will connect directly to a Mac.
Gurman shared this update in his Power On newsletter, saying that Apple originally thought about this Mac-connected setup for its AR glasses project. But now, it seems that idea has shifted to the Vision Pro lineup. The goal is to create a super low-latency system that can stream a Mac’s display or work with powerful enterprise apps.
Even with these updates, Apple’s long-term dream is still to build AR glasses that look and feel like regular eyewear — something comfortable and practical enough to wear every day. These upcoming Vision Pro models are seen as stepping stones in that direction.
According to Gurman, Apple CEO Tim Cook is determined to beat Meta in the AR/VR race, aiming to lead the market with cutting-edge products. It sounds like the Vision Pro family is just getting started, and Apple isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
