Apple updated its iPad lineup recently with the Apple iPad Pro powered by the new M4 chipset. The Cupertino-based tech giant also unveiled a new iPad Air with the M2 SoC. However, the Apple iPad mini lineup hasn’t been updated since 2021, amidst the ongoing demand for compact iPads with budget-friendly pricing.
Things could change soon, as according to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could revive its iPad mini lineup and launch a new Apple iPad mini before the year ends. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also shared a similar timeline for the release of the next iPad mini, reaffirming these claims.
Apple is also likely to bring significant upgrades over the 2021 iPad mini, with an upgraded display, performance, and battery life. However, we may not see more than a 60 Hz refresh rate on the upcoming iPad mini, to conserve battery and keep it below the flagship price category.
While the current generation Apple iPad mini is powered by the A15 Bionic chipset, we can expect the upcoming iPad mini to be powered by the A17 Bionic chipset. Additionally, Apple is expected to offer the upcoming Apple tablet with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, providing users with faster and more reliable network reception.
According to ‘Instant Digital’ on Weibo, the upcoming iPad Mini will also be available in new colour shades. The current iPad mini is available in purple, starlight, pink, and space gray options. He also suggests that the next iPad mini will feature an upgraded main camera.
