Apple Inc is expected to release iOS 26.4 in the coming weeks, bringing one of the most significant software updates for the iPhone in recent years. The update is set to focus heavily on Siri improvements and new Apple Intelligence-powered features aimed at making everyday tasks faster and more contextual.

According to reports from Bloomberg and tech publication 9To5Mac, the first developer beta is likely to arrive in the second half of February, followed by a public beta in early March. The final stable release is expected by the end of March, provided testing progresses smoothly.

Siri upgrade takes centre stage

The highlight of iOS 26.4 is a major overhaul of Siri, designed to make the voice assistant more responsive, aware, and useful in daily scenarios. One of the key additions is personal context support, allowing Siri to search through user content such as messages, emails, reminders, and notes to provide relevant information on demand.

This means users could ask Siri about flight details shared in messages, meeting times from emails, or reminders saved weeks ago — all without manually opening apps. The goal is to make Siri function more like a personal digital assistant rather than a basic voice command tool.

Apple Intelligence brings smarter actions

iOS 26.4 is also expected to introduce deeper Apple Intelligence features, including on-screen awareness. Siri will reportedly be able to understand what’s currently displayed on the iPhone screen and take actions based on that context, such as saving information, sharing content, or triggering related tasks.

Another major improvement involves cross-app actions, where users can perform multi-step commands across different apps using a single voice request. This could include editing photos and sharing them, creating calendar events from messages, or moving files between apps seamlessly.

The AI upgrades are said to be supported in part by advanced models developed in partnership with Google.

Alongside Siri and AI tools, iOS 26.4 is expected to bring a new set of emoji, including designs like an apple core, treasure chest, and fight cloud.

With the developer beta expected soon and public testing shortly after, Apple appears to be entering the final phase of development. If no major issues emerge, users could see the full iOS 26.4 rollout before the end of March, marking a major step forward for Siri and Apple’s AI strategy.
