Apple recently released its second iOS 18.3 developer beta update with very few noteworthy upgrades and features. However, the update did reveal details about a potential new app from the company to be called ‘Invites,’ which is still an unreleased product. Moreover, it could borrow some functionalities from the Apple Calendar app for inviting users and organizing meetings.
Apple working on a new ‘Invites’ app: Here’s how it works
Originally discovered by 9to5mac via iOS 18.3 beta 2 code, the ‘Invites’ app is believed to help users organize meetings and in-person events. Although Apple’s Calendar app can already be used for this purpose, this new app will likely have some additional features. Moreover, the app will likely integrate with iCloud and could even have a web version on the iCloud webpage.
The new ‘Invites’ application could be a way to share a link to any page or event that shows the meeting or event details in a visually organized way with a list of invitees. However, it is still unclear whether ‘Invites’ will be a stand-alone app or whether Apple has plans to integrate it with other system applications.
It remains to be seen whether the ‘Invites’ application will receive a full release or wil be provided in the iOS Calendar app or as a third-party solution since it’s still unreleased. However, there's a chance the app could debut in the coming months with the upcoming stable iOS updates.
