Android finally gets this iPhone feature designed to know about your friends or family’s safety

With the March 25 Pixel Drop, Google is finally adding one of the most important features that’s designed to keep your friends and family safe or as Google is calling it “An easy way to find your Crew”. The feature, dubbed as “Find Fam & Friends” has been added to Pixel devices as a part of the March 25 update and it will become available to all users globally in a gradual manner over the coming weeks.

Apple also introduced a similar feature almost two years ago called “Check-in” and Similar to iPhone, the new Find Fam & Friends feature aims to make it easier for users to find friends or notify friends and family when you reach to a certain location. It could be a mall, a party place or even when getting back to home from office and other places.

Google has integrated this feature into the Find My app via a new “People” tab and it allows users to share their live and even current location with friends and family.

How this feature works

To use the feature, users need to open Find My app and head to People tab. Then, choose to share the location with the person they want. The shared location will now be available in the other person’s Find My app and it can be tracked for the selected time period.
