Just in time for Raksha Bandhan, Amazon has rolled out a new feature that lets users personalise Amazon Pay gift cards by adding their own photos. Whether it’s an old Rakhi memory, a favourite selfie, or a shared moment, the update is designed to make digital gifting feel more personal — without adding any extra steps.
The feature is part of Amazon Pay’s latest festive update and is now live for all users.
How to add a photo to your Amazon Pay gift card
The process is simple. When choosing an Amazon Pay gift card, users will now see the option to upload an image before sending it. The personalised card works just like any regular Amazon gift card — it can be redeemed on Amazon or with select partner brands — but the visual element adds a meaningful layer to the experience.
Physical gift cards get a sustainable twist
If you prefer something tangible, Amazon has also updated its range of physical gift cards. New packaging options now include decorative boxes, classic envelopes, and even a plantable card made from seeded paper. Once redeemed, the card can be planted to grow a small plant — a thoughtful option for eco-conscious gifting.
Amazon gift cards: General or brand-specific
Shoppers can pick between two formats:
Amazon-wide cards usable across the entire platform
Brand-specific cards from over 300 partners including Zomato, Tanishq, MakeMyTrip, and BookMyShow.
This makes it easier to tailor the gift based on the recipient’s preferences or keep it open-ended.
Extra Rakhi gifting ideas
Amazon has also launched a Rakhi gift store featuring curated product options. Some highlights include:
OnePlus 13s (Snapdragon 8 Elite) – Rs. 54,998
Noise Diva Smartwatch – Rs. 2,799
Users can combine these with a digital or physical gift card, add a personal image, and complete the process within minutes. Digital cards are delivered instantly, while physical ones are shipped like any standard Amazon order.
