Alien: Rogue Incursion is the next sci-fi horror game and the first VR Alien game set in the Aliens film universe started by acclaimed English film director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, the Alien series films, Blade Runner, The Martian) with 1979’s Alien. Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett co-wrote the story of Alien (1979), the Sigourney Weaver film that began the sci-fi horror franchise.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is being developed by VR game specialists Survios in partnership with 20th Century Games. Let's look at how smart the Xenomorphs in the game are, the weapons and gear you'll use and combat advice from the developers in some detail.

In the VR game Alien Rogue Incursion, ex-Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks goes to investigate the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions black-site facility on the uncharted planet of Purdan, with Davis-01 accompanying her. Alien fans should note that this is the first appearance of Zula Hendricks in an Alien game.
At the black site, Zula will meet the “most cunning Xenomorphs ever encountered”, say Survios and 20th Century Games on the game website. As per the developers, the Xenomorphs in Alien: Rogue Incursion “can intelligently use the environment to find the best angle of attack and appear from anywhere around you”.
Depending on what actions players take, the Xenomorphs will spawn dynamically.
Since Alien Rogue Incursion is a virtual reality game, it will “test your nerves and skill”, add the developers.
That is not all.
Protagonist Zula Hendricks will also “discover new horrors and threats that once unleashed could spell the end for humankind”.

2. Alien Rogue Incursion: Weapons
The two trailers Alien Rogue Incursion got did show Zula Hendricks using weapons and gear like a fully automatic Pulse Rifle, shotgun, pistol and motion tracker. Regarding the gameplay, however, Survios and 20th Century Games mentioned in the videos that the gameplay part shown in the trailers was a work in progress and not the final gameplay.
3. Alien Rogue Incursion: You need psychological toughness and fast reflexes
In the Alien universe, having a good weapon is the bare minimum item you need to have; it instils some confidence in you but being psychologically tough is equally important. In Alien Rogue Incursion, your survival depends a lot on your resourcefulness, quick reflexes, and ability to stay cool under pressure.
4. Alien Rogue Incursion: Developers recommend stealth-based combat
Developers say that combat in Alien Rogue Incursion is “dynamic and can happen (or not) based on player actions, and the moment you don’t respect Xenomorphs is the minute you die in a gory mess”.
Players have to ensure that they do not make a lot of noise, otherwise the Xenomorphs will be able to locate them easily.
Alien Rogue Incursion is set to launch in Holiday 2024 on SteamVR, Valve Index, Meta Quest 3 and PSVR 2. The developers are yet to provide the confirmed launch date.
