Age of Empires IV update brings Multiplayer Pause feature, new event and game mode

Age of Empires IV Season 9 update 12.0.1974 has added a new multiplayer feature to the game called 'Multiplayer Pause'. As the name of the game feature goes, you will be able to pause your Age of Empires 4 game during a multiplayer match.

According to a website post by Age of Empires devs, the 'Multiplayer Pause' option will be “on by default in Quickmatch and Ranked and can be enabled (or disabled) by the lobby host in custom matches”.

Age of Empires IV Multiplayer Pause feature: Rules

Although Age of Empires 4 players can take the benefit of the Multiplayer Pause feature, they cannot do so indiscriminately. Any participant in an Age of Empires 4 multiplayer game may pause at any time, but each one can do so only five times per match.

After a player chooses to pause the match for the first time, a “minimum duration of 60 seconds must pass before any other players may un-pause” the match. The player who paused the ongoing Age of Empires IV match can un-pause at any time.

“Subsequent pauses by the same player may be un-paused at any time by any player. Your remaining pauses will display on the pause screen. While inputs are not available during the pause, it’s still possible to chat,’, the Age of Empires developers noted in the website post.

Hallows Hearth event and Full Moon game mode

Age of Empires IV Season 9 update brings the Hallows Hearth update. The Age of Empires 4 Hallows Hearth update includes challenges like Welcome to Hallow’s Hearth 2024, Another for the Pile, The Full Moon Calls, Hunt or be Hunted, Seasons Tricks, Another for the Pile II, They Stalk in the Night, The Morning Comes and Another for the Pile III.

Age of Empires 4 also introduces a new game mode called Full Moon. The Full Moon game mode features new terrors in the form of werewolves.
