Amazon India hiring 1.5 lakh workers for festive season 2025: Salary, roles benefits and all you need to know

If you’re on the lookout for work this festive season, Amazon India has opened the doors wide. The company has announced that it is hiring over 1.5 lakh workers to strengthen its operations during the busy shopping period. These jobs are spread across more than 400 cities, including metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, as well as smaller towns such as Jodhpur, Ranchi, Jalgaon, and Coimbatore.

What kind of jobs are available?

Most roles are in Amazon’s fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery stations. Associates handle tasks such as receiving, packing, sorting, and delivering customer orders. While these are seasonal jobs, Amazon says many people continue beyond the festive period, with some returning year after year — making it a good starting point for those seeking long-term opportunities.

Who can apply?

Amazon highlights that these jobs are inclusive. Thousands of women associates have been hired this year, along with over 2,000 persons with disabilities (PWDs). The company says it prioritises a safe and respectful workplace for everyone.

Benefits for associates

For job seekers, here are the key perks that come with these roles:

–Comfortable facilities: Warehouses have clean drinking water, hygienic washrooms, and rest areas. Larger centres also include air-conditioned cafeterias with seating and vending machines.

–Medical support: Associates have access to AMCARE first-aid centres, with qualified nurses and resting areas. If needed, they can be referred to nearby hospitals.

–Weather safety: Amazon uses its own forecasting tools to monitor heat and extreme weather. Work can be adjusted or paused if conditions become unsafe.

–Financial flexibility: The Early Access to Pay program lets associates withdraw up to 80% of their earned salary between the 1st and 20th of every month. This is helpful during emergencies.

–Leaves and offs: Associates get two weekly offs plus annual, casual, and sick leave as per law.

–Social security and insurance: Benefits include provident fund, ESIC, gratuity, and additional insurance coverage for accidents and medical needs.

Why it matters for job seekers

For many, these jobs offer both income and security during the festive season. Amazon also runs health camps and financial awareness workshops to support workers’ wellbeing. As one associate in Bengaluru put it, being part of Amazon during Diwali and other festivals feels like “delivering happiness to families while working in a respectful environment.”

If you need work this festive season, Amazon’s hiring drive offers short-term stability, decent benefits, and the possibility of continuing beyond the holidays.
