Formula One is among the most expensive sports in the world and drivers withdrawing a hefty salary are on expected lines. But how much does Max Verstappen, the quadruple world champion, and Lewis Hamilton, seven-time champion, earn? The duo are among the top drivers to feature in Formula One and as per a report by RacingNews365, the Dutch Verstappen makes $5 million more than the Brit, who made huge move to other team. Hamilton used to represent Mercedes but will now be seen driving for Ferrari, a shock move which the 40-year-old announced last year.
As per the report, Verstappen sits at top among the 20 drivers and will withdraw $65 million in total. However, Hamilton, who will look to dismantle the Dutch from the top on the grid, is not far behind. After his bombshell move to Ferrari, Hamilton will be withdrawing $60 million in total.
Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, Hamilton's teammate is on the same salary as 2024, which is $34 million. Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso makes $20 million. Lando Norris has also extended his contract and penned a long-term agreement with McLaren. He will receive a base salary of $20 million.
The figures mentioned below show only reflect the annual 'base' income of drivers and excludes bonuses from their teams for winning races or achieving podium finishes. The figures also do not include contracts with personal sponsors.
