PBKS vs KKR 2025, IPL Match Highlights: Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) produced a show for the ages as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 16 runs in a low-scoring thriller in the IPL 2025 encounter in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Punjab, who were bundled up for 111 in 15.3 overs, returned the favour and folded Kolkata for 95 in 15.1 overs, making it the lowest total defence in the history of the tournament. The hosts jolted KKR early with double blows in the modest run-chase. Xavier Bartlett and Marco Jansen got rid of Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine in the first two overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37 off 28) and Ajinkya Rahane (17 off 17) helped KKR recover and added 55 runs for the third-wicket. However, Rahane was trapped LBW by Yuzvendra Chahal, which the batter didn't review but TV replay confirmed the impact was outside the line. The dismissal triggered the Kolkata demolition as Chahal got rid of Raghuvanshi in his next over. Glenn Maxwell then joined the party and Chahal added two more wickets to his tally, following which Marco Jansen castled Harshit Rana to reduce KKR to 79-8 in the 112-chase. Andre Russell tried to keep KKR in hunt before getting out for 17(11) - the last batter to be removed. Chahal returned with four scalps, while Jansen picked three. Earlier, Rana helped KKR off to a strong start by packing Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer in the 4th over after they were asked to field. Arya hammered three boundaries and a maximum before falling against Rana for 22(12) and Iyer was caught by Ramandeep Singh for 0(2) at deep backward point. Josh Inglis playing his first match this season also couldn't do much and was castled by Varun Chakaravarthy for 2(6). The bowlers continued to pump pressure as Anrich Nortje joined the act by getting rid of Nehal Wadhera (10 off 9), forcing Punjab to introduce Suryansh Shedge as an Impact Substitute - a move that paid no dividends. He was dismissed by Sunil Narine for run-a-ball 4, which was right after Chakaravarthy had castled Maxwell for 7(10) to take his wicket tally to two. Narine then cleaned up Marco Jansen for 1(2) as both KKR spinners returned with two wickets each.
