IPL points table: The playoffs race is yet to be over as the bid to secure the final berth takes centerstage. Mumbai Indians (MI) lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. A win for the hosts will end Capitals campaign and guarantee them the final playoffs berth.
However, the weather can play a major spoilsport and both teams might be forced to share spoils considering the forecast. Rain is predicted casting dark clouds on the contest.
What if rain plays spoilsport?
Mumbai are currently placed fourth and Delhi are one spot below them. Mumbai have a slender one point edge, securing 14 points from 12 encounters. DC, on the other hand, have 13 from the same number of matches.
IPL 2025: CSK need to reboot ahead of next season, will MS Dhoni be part of it?
If rain forces a washout both teams will share a point each and their fate in the tournament will depend on Punjab Kings (PBKS), who have already qualified. Both DC and MI will play their final league match against PBKS, leaving both sides in almost a do-or-die situation.
DC are scheduled to play PBKS on May 24 and MI play two days later at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
